We created an on-trend look with a side-part for our model Josh at Lawson’s Men’s Hair Neutral Bay, for our ‘Looking Fit’ series this year. Lee approached the re-style by beginning with a traditional ‘short back and sides’ leaving weight on the top and around the sides. The back hairline was tapered in for a natural effect. He lightly layered the top with scissors leaving as much length as possible to be able to achieve the look. The sides were blended in with steep graduation to retain the weight on the top.
Josh has a strong ‘cowlick’ (hair growth pattern) on his front hairline so we had to blow dry the style and use a strong hold product! Lee made sure the hair was damp then created a side-part from right to left. Then he dried Josh’s hair with a vent brush in the direction of the parting to create a semi- quiff – his hair is quite springy already so not too much root lift was required. He then achieved further height and direction at the front only with a vent brush.
The product we used was Lock, Stock & Barrel’s 85 Karats Grooming Clay which has strong hold with medium shine. Lee worked the product through with his hands then combed it into place with a vent brush.
